John A. Stocking

John Stocking has over 50 years of legal practice in the area of estate planning, special needs trusts and guardianship. For families with a special needs child or any dependent person who must rely on Medical Assistance, no one has more experience in the State of Wisconsin than John Stocking. Special needs estate planning maintains the dependent person's eligibility for federal and state benefits, while also including the special needs person in the family's estate plan. As the father of a disabled child, John Stocking has a very personal understanding of how important the right estate plan can be. He is a leader in the field, and has held countless seminars and workshops to provide guidance to other attorneys seeking to develop a similar practice.

John is married to Mary Harley Stocking, and is the father of 6 adult children. His eldest son was born with down's syndrome, which is the source of John's career focus. Kayaking, golf, and sailing keep John busy in his free time, when not spending time with his 12 grandchildren.
